Past Events & Exhibitions

Although our primary work is archival, the Foundation regularly steps out from behind the collection to engage directly with the public. Our events have ranged from large-scale dedicated exhibitions to brief community appearances, and each has been well-received — drawing former staff, former visitors, fellow institutions, and a steady stream of curious newcomers who didn't realize this history was still being actively recovered.

On the larger end, we mount dedicated exhibitions that bring recovered artifacts together with archival material for the public to see in person. Our most recent of these, A Unique Place In Time, ran in December 2025 and remains the fullest public presentation of the Foundation's work to date.

We also make appearances at STEM fairs across the region, where the Foundation's tables tend to function as both science demonstration and informal oral history booth — visitors frequently arrive expecting to learn about a recovered exhibit and end up sharing memories of their own visits to The Science Place decades earlier.

On the smaller end, we participate in community events that put the Foundation in front of audiences we wouldn't otherwise reach: local parades, the annual DFW Archives Bazaar, and other gatherings where a single table and a handful of artifacts can do a surprising amount of work.

These shorter appearances are some of our most productive, both for raising awareness of the Foundation and for turning up new leads on objects, photographs, and former personnel.

We announce new events as they are scheduled. If you would like to be notified when the next one is on the calendar, please join our mailing list or follow us on social media.
